Besides having a lot of good information on the site, they also have a Weekend Drawing Event every weekend. Even though it's called a drawing event, people use painting, collage and other techniques. I haven't participated in a while, so it felt good to play with some new techniques and styles this weekend. This weekend's challenge was to use a not so good photo to make your picture. I really like this and quite pleased to see it because I had done such a background a while back and then just let it sit for a week or so before adding anything to it. I sketched a magnolia on top of mine and then did some touching up here and there. A friend of the family loved it so much I gave it to her. But I really like doing this sort of thing, and this one is scrumptious!
